We would like to share some very good news from the RFS Advice team. This year has been a year for awards and we would like to highlight some great results from a few of our team.
Every year the Independent Financial Advisers (IFA) organisation conducts an awards night that celebrates excellence in independent financial advice.
Our Licensee – Australian Advice Network – won ‘Best New Licensee’ in 2016 and in 2018, as our CEO, I was awarded Dealer Executive of the year. Our RFS Advisers had been finalists in a number of IFA awards over the last three years but never actually picked up a win.
The awards were held on the 6th of September and RFS Advice and its advisers were finalists in 4 categories. Troy Theobald was a finalist in the ‘Investment Adviser of the Year’, Darko Zigic was a finalist in both ‘Risk Adviser of the Year’ and ‘Holistic Adviser of the Year’ and RFS Advice was a finalist in ‘Boutique Practice of the Year’.
In a great result Troy won his category and is now the IFA Investment Adviser of the Year and Darko was also successful in winning IFA Risk Adviser of the Year.
A huge result for the business and an endorsement of not just the work they do, but the team they have supporting them.
Additionally, Niki Schneider, part of our investment advice adviser team, completed her Masters in Financial Planning in March this year. Being Niki, she didn’t just pass it, she achieved the Griffith award for Academic Excellence for both 2017 and 2018.
The Australian Financial Advisers (AFA) runs a number of awards each year and we nominated Niki for the AFA award for Academic Excellence and from a huge field across Australia she was one of three finalists.
After a lengthy submission, interview and presentation she headed to Adelaide on the 28th of August for the AFA Conference. The award winners were announced at the Gala dinner on the 29th.
Unfortunately, she was pipped at the post so is a very gracious runner-up. She was terrified that she would have to make a speech so we are a little suspicious she might have been ‘tanking’…
We are very proud of her and what she has achieved and just to make a finalist in this category is very significant achievement. For all her clients, you can rest assured you are in the hands of one of the best and brightest in our industry, and she continues to add to the skills of other staff in RFS through support and mentoring.
The above are all national awards so we are up against the best advisers in the Independent space, across Australia.
These sort of competitions are important to us but also, we hope, to you. We are testing ourselves against the best which ensures we continually look to improve on our offer and delivery. It also shows that RFS Advice can compete with businesses anywhere in Australia, be it regional or capital cities.
Please join me in congratulating Troy, Darko and Niki, and as always thank you for your business.
